Houston set for bigger streak
September 3rd 2008 02:03
The Houston Rocket's 22 game winning streak last season, the longest in years, was achieved without their most dominant player, Yao Ming. So, the question on everyone's mind seems to be, what are they going to do now that he's back from his foot injury.
Well, that was the question. Now it is, what are the Rockets going to do with Yao back and perennial star and troublemaker Ron Artest signed. Tracy McGrady doesn't need an introduction and if anyone saw Luis Scola in the Olympics throwing his weight around against the US dreamteam in the final of the men's basketball competition, it would be plain to see the Rockets have a very strong frontcourt. Rafer Alston has shown he is capable at the point and he has plenty of help with newcomers Aaron Brooks and D.J Strawberry both showing they are capable in their rookie seasons in the 2007/08 campaign.
As demonstrated by the much-talked about streak, this team is very deep, having gone so far without their franchise player Yao. Now that Houston is going to start each game with a host of stars as well, this season they could really stand out.
