NBA PLAYOFF CHECK IN (WEST)

Well, so far the playoffs have lived up to the hype. There have been some upsets, some close games, and a few blowouts. The east has been a little more interesting for me to watch with the exception of the 2 upsets (Grizzlies over the Spurs and Hornets over the Lakers). The Superstars of the league have not disappointed and some players who were flying under the radar are definitely stepping up and making a name for themselves.
The west is looking ok, Dallas and Portland are going at it and Portland is actually putting up a good fight, far more than I expected them to. Game 4 will tell all for these guys. Game 3 was an impressive show of heart for those guys because talent wise, they are slightly outmatched by the Mavs.
The Lakers and Hornets started off with some excitement in game 1, but reality has set in as the Lakers are now looking like the defending world champs. They are controlling the boards and making it difficult for the Hornets just to get open shots. And Kobe is being Kobe, aggressive and hungry.
The Spurs and Grizzlies series is a good one. It has gotten a little more exciting with the comeback of Manu Genobili from injury. The Grizzlies are young and hungry, but the Spurs know how to take their time and place at their pace.
OKC and the Nuggets are entertaining, but the Thunder has proven to have too much offense for the Nuggets. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are carving the Nuggets defense up like some cube steaks! This one will be over sooner than later.
By this time next week, we’ll see some entirely different match ups and hopefully a little more drama. Man, the NBA is great. It’s like a soap opera’s for men!
