Who will be the next NBA great?

As a true diehard basketball fan I often as myself this question. In this day and age great is judged by so many different qualities. Does he dunk well, does he pass well, is he a winner, what kind of attitude does he have? Personally, I do look at natural talent but isnít a great player supposed to win? Isnít a great player supposed to make the players around him better? Isnít a great player supposed to lead by example on and off the court? Donít get me wrong everyone makes mistakes but I think Iím making myself clear.
It just sit back and observe how the media hypes up some these young players like they are the next this and that but when you look at what the player has done overall thereís nothing there. They might have flashes here or there but nothing that stands out and makes you say,Ē wow, that guy is destined for greatness!
Some may call me a hater but on the contrary, I love this sport and I want to see the bar raised on who we hype up as the next great batch of NBA greats. The current NBA 50 greatest players may have a few questionable players on it but they would definitely be on the NBA greatest 60 players. I think what I am asking is,Ē Can we just expect more and ask more of the players who we consider great? Because, if we donít, the quality of basketball will definitely decrease and the game as a whole will suffer.

nba, national basketball association, hoops, nba greatest players, derrick rose, kobe bryant, lebron james, basketball, bball
Are they worthy?

I agree with you. You can't just name a player amongst the greatest after one great season. He has to win NBA titles, scoring titles, earn awards. Good stuff

It's interesting that you have a picture of Derrick Rose for this post. I don't think he is anywhere near being a great player. I think players like Kobe Bryant and Shaq are really the only players that should be on that list. I think you have to be at least 30 for people to be able to make that call. LeBron is definitely on track- and Chris Paul might get there- but it's usually too early to tell unless it is later on in your career; like 30.

Exactly, The article is asking who will be the next great player. Kobe and Lebron are already great. Shaq is already great. I'm asking who will be the next great, but thanks for the comments. Who's your pick to win the NBA championship?
